Kailo is the name, symbol and central principle behind the Path
The Symbol Behind the Name
The name Kailo derives from an ancient Indo-European root connected to the idea of integrity: what is whole, intact and unbroken.

The form of Kailo also recalls an ice crystal extending through the six directions of space. These directions place the symbol within a complete field of relationships.
No force acts alone. Every movement exists in relation to what surrounds it. The storm arrives when the previous form can no longer continue to exist, and it cannot always be avoided.
What remains possible is to observe what is left, recognise what can still be preserved, and decide what can be built from what has been broken.
This root was later associated with the structure of the Hagall rune and with hail.
Kailo emerges from the meeting of these two principles: the integrity of the original form and the force of hail, capable of breaking what has become rigid, static and no longer able to generate something new.

The lines of Kailo reflect the apparent movement of the Sun between the two extremes of the solar year: the longest and shortest periods of daylight. Its structure describes a cycle in which opposite forces are not separated.
Each contains the conditions from which the other will emerge. Light moves towards darkness. Darkness prepares the return of light.
Form changes, but the cycle remains unbroken.
The Necessary Storm. Kailo expresses the encounter between ice and fire. It is the force that breaks what has become fixed, stagnant or no lThe Seed of What Is
Before it opens, a seed still contains every possibility. For new roots to emerge, however, its shell must first break. Kailo represents the moment before division, choice and the manifestation of a visible form.
Kailo Archive was created to research, preserve and transform symbolic language: the still-complete structure from which a new form can emerge.
